Marketing Manager (client projects)

TDi Sustainability (TDi) is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, smart, curious, articulate, creative, and detail-oriented senior marketing professional to fill a full-time position, starting immediately.

TDi is an advisory firm with an agenda: we aim to show that businesses from production to retail, site to shelf, mine to main street – can create long-term value and make a positive difference in people’s lives. TDi combines business consulting expertise, technical knowledge, value chain focus and our sustainability mission to solve complex problems and deliver durable results for our clients.

Our track record includes working with the world’s biggest companies and most recognisable brands, as well as lesser-known innovators, entrepreneurs and social enterprises. Our projects include building ESG management systems for investors; the design and application of supply chain due diligence tools and procedures; completing project level risk assessments and provision of subject matter expertise for sustainability audits; the development of commercialisation strategies for green products and services; and convening, managing and facilitating multi-company and cross-sector sustainability initiatives.

TDi is a convenor of industry initiatives – bringing together surprising combinations of organisations, stakeholders and companies in a pre-competitive space, to bring about the type of change that cannot be achieved by one organisation alone.

Role Summary:

TDi is seeking a highly competent marketing and communications professional. You will report to the Marketing Manager and work closely with the TDi marketing team, other TDi team members, members of the external industry groups that we manage, and individual TDi clients.

Key Responsibilities:

The post-holder will be responsible for managing the marketing and communications requirements of TDi’s clients. This includes:

  • Deliver the TDi marketing strategy for external client business and relationships
  • Developing and delivering marketing strategies and communications plans for individual companies and industry groups
  • Managing the design and proofreading of TDi client reports – being an ambassador for the TDi brand at all times
  • Managing client communications projects – this could be the development of a membership platform, delivery of a social media plan, reporting on website user statistics, developing a client podcast or webinar series, or a new communications project type that we’ve never done before!
  • Actively seeking and securing new communications and marketing business
  • Managing the design, proofreading and messaging within tenders and RFPs
  • Developing communications governance procedures and approval processes
  • Managing external client websites
  • Facilitating and contributing to communications working groups
  • Producing communications materials including infographics, blogs, social media assets, news stories, and press releases
  • Supporting TDi’s own marketing and communications activity as required – including webinars, events, podcasts and website updates.

Please note, that this is a hands-on role that involves writing and the creation of communications assets. We are looking for someone with an ‘eye’ for design, who loves being creative, and who can produce PowerPoint decks and social media assets themselves, but who can also provide a clear brief to a designer. You will be client facing, which means that good written and verbal communications are essential, as well as confidence in dealing with people at different management levels working in a range of settings. We are a small team, the members of which work remotely. The applicant will need to be happy working autonomously, managing their own time, prioritising workload, coming up with ideas, thinking on their feet, and taking the initiative to ask questions and find solutions to problems.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Ideally 5 – 8 years’ relevant professional work experience
  • Communications strategy development, planning and execution – with the ability to be hands-on in delivery
  • An eye for design, experience using Canva, email software and CMS on web platforms such as WordPress
  • Experience across a range of social media platforms
  • Knowledge of supply chains, ESG, natural resources, the natural environment, minerals and metals and/or social and community engagement
  • Ideally knowledge of some of the key industries that TDi works with
  • Experience of chairing, coordinating and contributing to working group meetings and workshops
  • Skilled in developing pitch decks/presentations – PowerPoint
  • Skilled in conceptualising content for marketing materials
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent time management, able to effectively prioritise a full and rapidly evolving workload and deliver to deadlines
  • Language skills: Excellent English-language proficiency essential

What we can offer you:

This is a chance to work with and learn from a very experienced team and contribute to several fascinating, influential and potentially ground-breaking projects in supply chain risk management, responsible sourcing, and impact investing.

  • A contract for 40 hours per week
  • A competitive salary, commensurate with experience
  • A generous allowance for professional skill development
  • MacBook and other equipment relevant for the workspace
  • 23 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays, Christmas shutdown and up to 5 additional days to complete a passion project
  • Wellbeing allowance
  • Annual employee incentive plan
  • Diverse, exciting and impactful work
  • Being part of a dynamic and experienced international team passionate about serving its clients to build successful responsible businesses, and committed to corporate sustainability, human rights and social change
  • Flexible hours and possibility to work remotely.

We have a policy to accommodate remote, flexible and autonomous working arrangements in return for a commitment to extremely high-quality deliverables, working to fulfil project goals, and consistently meeting deadlines.

Unfortunately, we cannot support work visa applications so you must have permission to work in the country where you intend to work when you apply.

This role is envisaged as a full-time, permanent position.
