Audit preparation and due diligence system development for a copper mining company
TDi Sustainability was approached by a copper mining company, with the objective of preparing for their first Copper Mark assessment while also aligning their due diligence system with the requirements of the Joint Due Diligence Standard and requirements of the Copper Mark Criteria on Due Diligence. As a result of our collaborative efforts, the company successfully underwent The Copper Mark assessment and demonstrated significant progress in their due diligence system, meeting the Standard’s requirements.
Development of Due Diligence System Aligned to the Joint Due Diligence Standard
- TDi collaborated with the client to create a due diligence system aligned with the Standard, offering guidance on the Standard as a whole and designing a tailored work plan based on the client’s self-assessment against the Standard.
- Utilising the responses from the self-assessment tool, TDi generated a comprehensive gap analysis report, informing a work plan for reviewing, updating, and creating necessary documents.
Audit Preparation for The Copper Mark Assessment
- TDi conducted a comprehensive assessment of the documents for each criterion, offering guidance on Standard expectations and providing examples of evidence. Feedback and suggestions were provided after reviewing all documents, ensuring alignment with the Standard’s requirements.
- TDi conducted mock interviews with key data holders within the company to simulate the assessment process and identify areas for improvement.
