Developing a sustainability report for a major mining company
In response to growing scrutiny and pressure from international investors and stakeholders, a leading mining company with copper, gold, and silver operations, tasked TDi Sustainability with producing its pilot sustainability report.
Following site visits, TDi produced a comprehensive sustainability report to address stakeholders’ demands for accountability and transparency, especially investors:

Sustainability report:
TDi’s report provided an overview of the company’s significance around sustainability as the largest mining site in Indonesia and one of the largest extractive copper sites globally.
Stakeholder transparency:
The report analysis highlighted the increasing demand from investors, NGOs, and other actors for the company to be transparent about performance by publishing a sustainability report and addressing the pressure from stakeholders, particularly investors, for greater transparency regarding sustainability and management practices, with specific emphasis on tailings management.
Sustainability standards:
The report emphasised the need to operate in line with the highest sustainability standards, particularly in tailings management.
