Working with the Natural Polymers Group

TDi Sustainability is working with the Natural Polymers Group (NPG) — a coalition of mission-driven businesses, scientists and policy influencers exploring nature-based approaches to plastic alternatives, to provide the technical and project management support that will help them meet their common vision.

The Natural Polymers Group’s diverse stakeholders share a common vision: to promote nature-based non-plastic substitutes for the global plastic pollution problem.  All members of the NPG use materials sourced from nature, with no chemical modification. These materials break down naturally, leaving nothing harmful behind, offering biodegradable and compostable alternatives to conventional plastics. By championing natural polymers, the NPG is fostering a sustainable shift in materials innovation, creating hope for a future where circular economy principles can thrive and plastic pollution is eliminated.

The NPG’s members include Notpla, traceless materials, Xampla, MarinaTex, PlantSea, Zerocircle, and LOLIWARE Inc.

As part of the NPG’s secretariat and a facilitator, TDi steers discussions on reaching the group’s advocacy goals within the waste hierarchy and broader circular economy frameworks, and our CEO, Assheton Stewart Carter serves as the chair of the NPG’s Secretariat.

TDi brings its experience as a convenor of cross-sector initiatives and as a technical director to ensure that NPG remains a collaborative, non-competitive space for dialogue and shared progress.

Organisations working in or exploring the natural polymers with no chemical modification space, are welcome to engage with the group
