Frequently asked questions
What does TDi Sustainability do?
TDi Sustainability helps organisations manage ESG (environmental, social and governance) risks, build critical minerals strategies, and simplify sustainability across global metals and minerals value chains. Our work spans strategy development, risk identification, risk management, and industry-wide impact and leadership initiatives.
Who does TDi work with?
We work with Fortune 100 companies, governments, industry associations and start-ups across sectors linked to the metals and minerals value chain, including mining, energy and utilities, renewables, automotive, cosmetics, aerospace, electronics, jewellery, and finance and investment. We also support standard setters in developing and benchmarking responsible sourcing frameworks. But while our core work focuses on metals and minerals value chains, our core skills and expertise are transferable and we can support any organisation in any industry dealing with complex supply chains, regulatory pressures, and sustainability strategy, reporting or research needs. We’re also experts at building partnerships within and between industries – bringing together organisations that would otherwise be operating within a competitive landscape, together, to engender meaningful change.
What services does TDi offer?
Our core services fall into four areas: sustainability and critical minerals strategy development; risk identification and supply chain mapping; risk management, including supplier codes of conduct and auditing against industry standards; and industry leadership through cross-sector collaboration and pre-competitive initiatives. Explore our ‘services’ tab across the top navigation of our website to view our full range of services.

What services and tools are available to assist with human rights due diligence and support the development of human rights strategies?
TDi’s Human Rights Strategies service covers human rights strategy development, human rights due diligence, Human Rights Impact Assessments (HRIAs), Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), and the identification and mitigation of forced labour risks and responsible recruitment issues. We help determine whether human rights risks affecting your business are already addressed by existing due diligence processes or require a dedicated HRIA.
Our Supply Chain and Due Diligence Tool, part of the TDi Digital Platform, helps you understand ESG and supply chain risks, including human rights risks, score suppliers for inherent and residual risk, and determine when enhanced due diligence is needed. Our complementary Country Risk Tool screens whether your suppliers or business relationships operate in Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs) and flags the ESG risks associated with those locations.
