EO100 (Standard for Responsible Energy Development)
World Gold Council (WGC)
Overview
EO100 is a certification standard, administered by Equitable Origin, covering environmental, social and governance performance specifically in energy development projects – a category that increasingly includes the mining operations that supply critical minerals for the energy transition. Certification assesses a project against criteria spanning corporate governance and business ethics, human rights and community engagement (including Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), climate change and biodiversity, and health and safety. It is one of the few standards designed to bridge traditional energy development and the mineral extraction now feeding renewable energy supply chains, which makes it a relevant reference point for mining operations that supply battery metals or other energy-transition-linked minerals.

Developing the EO100 Standard
TDi provided comprehensive support to Equitable Origin (EO) in its standard-setting, governance structure establishment, and technology implementation. The partnership has resulted in the development of a credible certification programme for energy projects and efficient programme management.
