Aleksandra Cholewa

Chief Transformation and Growth Officer

Aleksandra Cholewa is a senior executive with 20 years of international experience in mining, metallurgy, and value addition across complex and high-risk jurisdictions. She specialises in the development of responsible mineral supply chains, industrial processing projects, and the integration of sustainability, traceability, and digital solutions into upstream and downstream operations across Africa, the Western Balkans, Europe, and the United States.

At TDi, Aleksandra focuses on designing and delivering advisory solutions for sustainable mining and value addition. Aleksandra brings deep technical expertise combined with hands-on experience in developing and operating industrial assets. She has led landmark initiatives, including the development of the first Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP)-conformant tin smelter in Africa, and the modernization of coal mining operations across the Western Balkans. Her work includes advising governments on investment frameworks, legal reforms, and sustainable mining strategies, as well as deploying blockchain-based traceability systems and digital supply chain tools.

Aleksandra is also actively engaged in education and thought leadership. She regularly contributes to industry dialogue through webinars and panel discussions at leading international forums, including OECD, Mining Indaba, and the Responsible Minerals Initiative. She lectures on supply chain logistics and responsible sourcing at universities in East Africa and currently at the University of Szczecin in Poland and has been involved in developing academic curricula and professional training programmes in the field. She is committed to advancing inclusivity and sustainability in the sector, serves as President of Women in Mining Poland and supports social impact initiatives through the Afriquia Foundation.

Aleksandra holds a PhD in Management and Quality Science, an MA in Balkan Studies, and has completed executive training at IMD Business School.
