Our projects include building ESG management systems for investors; the design and application of supply chain due diligence tools and procedures; completing project level risk assessments and provision of subject matter expertise for sustainability audits; the development of commercialisation strategies for green products and services; and convening, managing and facilitating multi-company and cross-sector sustainability initiatives. We are a co-founder of a highly innovative impact investment vehicle and non-profit organisation – The Impact Facility for Sustainable Mineral Supply Chains – that was established to facilitate a flow of risk tolerant patient capital and technical assistance to small-scale miners, community enterprises and SMEs in our clients’ supply chains. The Impact Facility has launched the Fair Cobalt Alliance and the Lake Victoria Gold Programme with brands including Fairphone, Fairtrade, Signify, Tesla, Google, Glencore, Sono Motors and Solidaridad.

Role Summary:

TDi is seeking a highly competent marketing and communications professional. You will report to the Marketing Manager and work closely with the TDi Management team, other TDi team members, TDi clients and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The post-holder will be responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns and projects for TDi and clients, including:

  • Running campaigns around specific TDi services and areas of expertise
  • Devising, coordinating and running webinars and podcasts
  • Coordinating TDi’s presence at external events
  • Coordinating TDi’s social media presence including organic and paid campaigns. This includes development of the content plan, coming up with original ideas and writing long-form and short-form technical copy about our services and areas of expertise, advising on areas for improvement, increasing engagement (internally and externally), analysing and improving results
  • Devising, coordinating and producing literature, pitch decks and newsletters
  • Identification, coordination and responding to press and PR opportunities

Please note, that this is a hands-on role that involves writing, design and creation of infographics and video. We are not looking for a designer, but we do need someone with a great ‘eye’ for design, and who loves being creative. You will be client facing, which means that good written and verbal communications are essential, as well as confidence in dealing with people at different management levels working in a range of institutional settings such as SMEs, corporations, NGOs and government agencies. We are a small team, the members of which work remotely. The applicant will need to be happy working autonomously, managing their own time, prioritising workload, coming up with ideas, thinking on their feet, and taking the initiative to ask questions and find solutions to problems.

 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Ideally 5 – 8 years’ relevant professional work experience
  • Ideally a good understanding and interest in responsible sourcing, environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, and some of the core industries that TDi works with
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience in developing marketing strategy and running marketing campaigns
  • Experience of creating communications assets
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial attitude (show us)
  • Skilled in developing pitch decks/presentations
  • Skilled in conceptualising content for marketing materials
  • A flair for design and experience in using apps such as Canva to design infographics
  • Experience of Monday.com-type platforms
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and how to maximise views through the development of targeted campaigns
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent time management, able to effectively prioritise a full and rapidly evolving workload and deliver to deadlines
  • Language skills: Excellent English-language proficiency essential
