360° Solutions for an Industry Under the Spotlight

TDi Sustainability is a trusted advisor to companies across the entire fashion and textiles industry, from the cotton fields to the high street.

We provide expert advice on all aspects of sustainability, from the design of a unique sustainability and responsible sourcing strategy tailored to your organisation, to legal compliance and audit preparation, to supply chain mapping and risk assessment and management, to the implementation of community development projects on the ground.

TDi Sustainability has built, over the years, a deep knowledge and understanding of materials and supply chain risks, having assessed many materials used for textiles as part of our work with fashion and automotive brands. Our team also combines a deep practical knowledge of the issues associated with supply chain management and garment production, having audited hundreds of factories around the world, as well as numerous cotton fields.

Together, we can make sure that your organisation and your supply chain stand up to scrutiny today and in the future.

Latest Sustainability Trends for the Fashion and Textiles Industries

Today’s fashion industry faces increasingly stringent requirements to audit and report on responsible sourcing in supply chains, to ensure fair labour and to address environmental issues of waste, pollution and the 2% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that make up the industry’s carbon footprint.

Waste and Circularity

The industry is witnessing a push towards a more circular economy, aiming to ensure all garments are reused, recycled, or biodegradable. The drive towards this model is evident in initiatives like Textiles 2030.

Labour Issues

Companies outsource their production processes in order to minimise cost, resulting in poor working conditions that violate health and safety standards, inadequate wages, trade union bans, abuse, harassment, and child labour.

Due diligence in supply chains

Due Diligence in Supply Chains

Misleading information and lack of sustainability data across the value chain can lead to potential greenwashing claims, inadequate sustainability programmes, and unmitigated risks across the value chain.

Carbon Emissions

The fashion and textiles industries were responsible for 1.025 Gt of CO2 in 2019, roughly 2% of GHG emissions. This could increase to 5.66 Gt by 2030 if left unchecked and would not meet the 45% reduction required by the Paris Climate Agreement.
