TDi is an advisory firm with an agenda: we aim to show that businesses from production to retail, site to shelf, mine to main street – can create long-term value and make a positive difference in people’s lives. TDi combines business consulting expertise, technical knowledge, value chain focus and our sustainability mission to solve complex problems and deliver durable results for our clients.
Our track record includes working with the world’s biggest companies and most recognisable brands, as well as lesser-known innovators, entrepreneurs and social enterprises. Our projects include building ESG management systems for investors; the design and application of supply chain due diligence tools and procedures; completing project level risk assessments and provision of subject matter expertise for sustainability audits; the development of commercialisation strategies for green products and services; and convening, managing and facilitating multi-company and cross-sector sustainability initiatives.
TDi is a convenor of industry initiatives – bringing together surprising combinations of organisations, stakeholders and companies in a pre-competitive space, to bring about the type of change that cannot be achieved by one organisation alone.
Role Summary:
TDi is seeking a highly competent marketing and communications professional. You will report to the Marketing Manager and work closely with the TDi marketing team, other TDi team members, and members of an external multi-stakeholder group made up of representatives from across the pharmaceutical industry.
This person will focus the majority of their time specifically on strategic engagement with a multistakeholder initiative that we coordinate for the pharmaceutical industry, therefore previous communications experience in this sector would be useful.
Key Responsibilities:

- Managing the initiative’s overall brand and messaging
- Developing communications governance procedures and approval processes
- Devising, coordinating and delivering a unified communications strategy for the multi-stakeholder initiative, and separate communication strategies for its individual working groups

- Managing and updating the multi-stakeholder initiative’s website
- Coordinating and facilitating communications working groups made up of industry representatives
- Managing engagement with the initiative with UK government – stakeholder mapping, developing key messages, reaching out to stakeholders, keeping up to date with relevant policy developments and fundraising opportunities
- Producing communications materials including infographics, newsletters, blogs, social media assets, news stories, press releases
Please note, that this is a hands-on role that involves writing, design and creation of infographics and video. We are not looking for a designer, but we do need someone with an ‘eye’ for design, and who loves being creative. You will be client facing, which means that good written and verbal communications are essential, as well as confidence in dealing with people at different management levels working in a range of settings. We are a small team, the members of which work remotely. The applicant will need to be happy working autonomously, managing their own time, prioritising workload, coming up with ideas, thinking on their feet, and taking the initiative to ask questions and find solutions to problems.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and knowledge:
- Ideally 5 – 8 years’ relevant professional work experience
- Communications strategy development, planning and execution – with the ability to be hands-on in delivery
- An eye for design, experience using Canva, email software and CMS on web platforms such as WordPress
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and circularity in packaging. Ideally some knowledge of the ABPI Code.
- Chairing, coordinating and contributing to working group meetings with different types and levels of people with differing opinions
- Setting up and managing governance and approvals processes for the distribution of comms materials
- Ideally some understanding and interest in responsible sourcing, environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, and some of the core industries that TDi works with
- Skilled in developing pitch decks/presentations – PowerPoint
- Skilled in conceptualising content for marketing materials
- Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and how to maximise views through the development of targeted campaigns
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent time management, able to effectively prioritise a full and rapidly evolving workload and deliver to deadlines
